Nearly holiday time! Technically Im in summer holidays now, but I'm so busy with concerts and things, it doesn't seem like it much. Ah, well, at least I'm enjoying it ^-^

Well, the school and church concerts both went incredibly well. Interestingly, its the first time at school no-ones commented/laughed at me for being an "opera singer", even though I sang the highest note I've ever sang in public? Maybe Im just getting better and people are more open-minded about singing at my school now : )

So, I have a concert tonight, and although I'm not singing any solos/duets or w/e, just in the choir, I'm still really hyped up about it. Its with the Durham county youth choir, and it is a joint concert with the Durham childrens choir from North Carolina. So, it will be awesome listening to them, and also, if everything goes well, we might be able to make a return trip next year! 8D

Then, I have a rehearsal tomorrow night, and on Saturday I'm going on the (last ever for me) SMSM reward trip (smsm = name of the schools music department). We are going to the Camelot theme park ([link]) Unfortunately, after the muck up with the music teacher last year before he left our school (basically he didn't teach us anything/do any coursework with us, meaning we had to rush it all this year) none of the year 11s were particularly interested as they all eternally hate my schools music department now, which means there are only 2/3 people who I know well enough to ask to hang around with, and they'll be with all there friends probably, and anyone who knows me IRL, will know how incedibly shy I am >.>;;;

Next week is the "summer ball" aka the prom. Im really excited, but don't really have much to say about it.

Also, I managed to change the mood. Although, I didn't know what it was I was changing it to...

Oh! I nearly forgot! I'm gonna be entered for my grade 5 piano exam in November! Which is really cool, since I've only been learning for just under a year. For anyone who doesn't know the grading system Grade 1=lowest Grade 8=highest. Within these exams, you can either get a fail, pass, merit or distinction. Hopefully Im gonna get a distinction, but I doubt that will happen.
Im waiting for my Grade 5 theory results, too, which I took a couple of weeks ago. I should get them the day after my birthday! XD (NB you need minimum grade 5 theory to be entered for any grades higher than grade 5 on any instrument. Just how the ABRSM examining board works.) I also need grade 5 theory if I want to study music at Johnstone, which is a 6th form I may be going to next year. It's the top-scoring non-private school in the area, and I'm really happy I've been offered a place, but I don't know if I want to go because the music teacher always seems to stick his nose up at the fact that I use singing as my 1st instrument ;-;
